Costco Announces Exciting Change, and Members Couldn’t Be Happier
Costco, the go-to destination for savvy shoppers looking to buy groceries in bulk, stylish sheds, and popular home essentials, has consistently impressed customers with its diverse selection and beloved food court offerings. And now, loyal Costco members have even more reason to be excited—the retailer just announced an exciting new update!
During a March 6 earnings call, Costco CEO Ron Vachris announced that, in addition to opening new locations soon, the company has also extended gas station hours across North America to provide members with a more convenient refueling experience.
Your local Costco gas station, known for its consistently low prices, will now have extended hours. “In general, our stations are now staying open an hour later than before, with some also opening earlier,” Vachris stated.
In a Facebook post, Costco listed its new hours as:
- 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday
- 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday
- 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The post did note that the hours may vary for California and Hawaii, and that everyone should still check with their local Costco for hours.
The announcement was met with immediate enthusiasm from members. One Facebook user commented, “This is awesome! Thanks, Costco!!!” while another added, “Super exciting.” Someone else expressed appreciation for the change, saying, “Loving the 6 a.m. pump access on weekends.”
But that’s not the only potential update for Costco shoppers. According to CEO Ron Vachris, extended store hours are also being considered. He acknowledged that there is demand from commuters for both early morning and late evening hours, suggesting that expanded hours could be beneficial. While no official plans are in place yet, Vachris noted that the idea is still on the table.
